Weather permitting, MHS, Silver Lake to meet Thursday
The McLouth High softball team could finally get to play the doubleheader it's been waiting for.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to play the Silver Lake Eagles on Thursday in Silver Lake. Twice before, rain has postponed the game.
"Not to slight anybody else, but we felt like they were the best team on our schedule," MHS coach Ballard Patterson said. "We're going to know where we're at.
"They're one of the best teams in the state and we're going to know after Thursday where we're at."
McLouth improved to 12-0 on the season Monday after defeating Doniphan County, a cooperative of Troy and Wathena, 10-0 and 19-2. McLouth now has outscored its opponents, 125-4 this season.
MHS baseball, meanwhile, is 4-4 on the year after splitting Monday with Doniphan County. The Bulldogs won the first game, 11-8, but lost the second, 14-4.
