Jarbalo Jottings
Friday evening, July 6, at the home of Thamar Barnett, Julia Carter and Shianne. Tammy Mooberry, Kathy Stimac, Connie Barnett and Jane and David Turner watched the fireworks display at the Kelly's south of town. It was spectacular. Thanks! Tammy brought fried chickens and other food to go with it, which was enjoyed by those who came early. Connie brought fixings for root beer floats, and everyone got in on that after the show.
Saturday, July 7, David and Jane Turner went to Topeka for their Santa Fe Trail Leather Artists Guild meeting.
Jay and Melissa Ehart of Kansas City took Henry and Mildred Ehart out to eat Sunday, July 8, at Jumpin' Catfish in Kansas City to celebrate Henry's birthday, which was July 9.
On Saturday, Rachel Ehart of Merrillville, Ind., visited Henry and Mildred Ehart.
Jarbalo United Methodist Women met Wednesday, July 11, for their monthly meeting. Eight members answered roll call and reported 16 care calls. The group discussed its upcoming event, which is to go to Golden Living Center in Lansing to serve cake and ice cream for the birthday Tuesday.
Connie Barnett had the program and read an article titled "Pass the Salt, Please." She also was the hostess and served cookies and ice cream to Marilyn Oxley, Gladys Steffen, Bid Sheppard, Frances Jeannin, Boots Cleavinger, Faye Cleavinger and Thamar Barnett.
Larry and Velma Bass of Leavenworth took Thamar Barnett to the New China Inn in Leavenworth, where they met with Jennifer Carpenter of Golden Living Center, and Scott Averill, Dale Beaulieu, Kareen King and Sandy Harris, all of Brookside Nursing Home of Overbrook. They all had dinner and a good time of visiting.
