Tonganoxie High baseball season ends with regional championship loss to Hayden
The Tonganoxie High baseball team's dream of a state berth has ended.
The Chieftains, seeded No. 3 in its Class 4A regional, defeated No. 2 Holton, 10-3 Tuesday in Class 4A regional semifinal action in Meriden.
That put THS against No. 1 Hayden in the finals. The Chieftains and Wildcats were tied, 2-2, heading into the sixth, but Hayden scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth and held on for a 6-2 win. THS ended its season at 14-9, while Hayden improved to 17-4 with its regional title.
