David and Jennifer Roggenkamp and Brayden of St. Marys were visiting during the May 3 weekend with her family, Johnny, Jackie and Adam Schwinn.

It has been a great year for the mushrooms to pop up.

On May 4, Danny, Linda and Rick Schwinn entertained with a mushroom luncheon for the Dave Zules, Randy Schwinns, Harold and Anna Schermbecks and Evelyn Schwinn. “So Good.”

Peggy Gillaspie was celebrating her birthday May 6. On May 7, Ed and Peggy celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary. Their son, Jeff and wife, Jenna, took them to dinner May 4.

Several of our area farmers were able to get some corn planted this week — the whippoorwills could be heard saying, “Plant your corn.”

A group of 55 people chartered a busload May 4 from Annie’s Country Jubilee in Tonganoxie and went to the show of Beth Heenters in Arlington, Iowa. Annie surprised Beth and was a guest on her show Sunday. Jennie Coffin and Helen Lohman attended the show. They all arrived back Sunday evening around 10 p.m. It was a very good time for all attending the show.
