Hillary Chauvin arranges a bouquet of yellow roses in her grandmother's floral booth during Saturday's Tonganoxie Days festivities. Booths lined three blocks of Fourth Street, and activities also were going on at the VFW Memorial Park, the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds, Tonganoxie Elementary School, the Tonganoxie City Library and the Amanna elan bed and breakfast. Hillary and her mother watched the booth for Hillary's grandmother.
This dancer performs a midair feat as onlookers watched from the stage during Saturday morning's festivities at VFW Memorial Park. Dancers in Brenda Graves dance group performed at Tonganoxie Days. Throughout the park, dozens of cars were displayed at the Country Cruisers Car Show.
The Tonganoxie City Library was dedicated to Winnie Turner Saturday. Turner served as librarian from February 1969 to May 1995 and was instrumental in the planning of the current library. From left are family members and library representatives: Sandy Turner, Jim Morey, Winnie Turner, Robert Turner, Bobby Turner, Karen Pence, Sharon Moreland and Betty Nelson.
Al Pursell, Leavenworth, heads east on Evans Road during the library's run. Pursell, who is 75, was the oldest runner to participate in the 10K.
