A rifle squad fired a 21-gun salute on Thursday during Lucas Frantz's graveside services at Maple Grove Cemetery south of Tonganoxie. Frantz, a member of the U.S. Army, died Oct. 18 in Iraq. Frantz, who had been promoted from specialist to corporal, also was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his service to his country.
